The Big Cheese –The Cheese Course, Boca Raton

The Cheese Course is an artisanal cheese shop that has a European feel and a menu filled with sandwiches, salads, and of course, cheese. Whether you are craving Fresh Mozzarella, Fontina, or Brie – The Cheese Course has you covered and they are sure to please.

Cheese, Wine, and Sandwiches

I first visited The Cheese Course a few weeks ago in the Weston Town Center and couldn’t stop thinking about it. So, when the Foodies were looking for a fast and fresh lunch option in Boca Raton, The Cheese Course immediately came to mind. Located in Mizner Park, the bistro transports you from the busy city into a quaint European café. The store is filled with cases of imported cheese, the walls are lined with books and wine, and the aisles are stocked with specialty treats like jams and honey.

The menu includes items ranging from $7-12 and sandwiches are big enough to share…if you want.

The Cheese Course: On the menu – Black Forest Ham with Brie, Cranberry Raspberry Relish, and Greens. Roast Turkey Breast with Smoked Cheddar, Fruit Chutney, Mayonnaise, and Greens.

Black Forest Ham with Brie

What we thought: Black Forest Ham with Brie – The sweetness of the black forest ham and cran-raspberry relish perfectly accented the star of the sandwich, the thick rectangular pieces of creamy, nutty brie. Mmmmm…. Brie. Whether you label it chic, or not, {READ} I’ve always found it delectable, siding with flavor over fashion… Back to the sandwich: Assembled on a whole wheat baguette and topped with field greens, it was a massive masterpiece, and a bargain at $8.90 since it was easily large enough for two lunches. Served at room temperature, but would be good (and gooey) warm as well.

Roasted Turkey with Smoked Cheddar

Roasted Turkey with Aged Cheddar – The thick slice of Smoked Cheddar tasted as if it had slight hint of bacon and was complimented well by the sweet fruit chutney and roasted turkey. Served on a fresh whole wheat baguette and topped with greens, it was a perfect alternative to an ordinary deli meat sandwich.

There is definitely no shortage of cheese on these sandwiches, while some cafés prepare sandwiches with a measly slice of soft cheese, The Cheese Course pairs theirs with a thick and hearty slice of fresh artisan cheese. A must try for any cheese lover!
