Meatless Monday: Grown-Up Grilled Cheese

This simple recipe turns ordinary grilled cheese into a grown-up style sandwich. Made with asiago cheese, sliced tomatoes and drizzled with balsamic glaze, this Italian style creation is delicious.  And since there is no meat, this recipe is perfect for “Meatless” Monday! Serve with creamy red pepper soup or tomato bisque and you have a satisfying and quick dinner.

Grown-Up Grilled Cheese Sandwich Strips

  • 1 loaf sliced bread (Sourdough)
  • 4 tbsp garlic butter
  • 2 large tomatoes, sliced thin
  • Chiffonade of Fresh basil
  • Balsamic Glaze
  • Sliced Asiago Cheese(16)


1. Preheat a non stick skillet over medium heat.
2. Lay out bread, drizzle each slice with balsamic glaze, top with cheese, tomatoes and basil close with balsamic glazed slice.
3. Laddle some garlic butter in bottom of pan and grill both sides til crisp!
4. Slice each sandwich into 4 Strips.
5. Plate with Fresh Basil and Enjoy!
